Program Head Coach
Coach Endres is now entering his 22nd season as head coach of the Lancer Basketball Program. The Ventura County Hall of fame coach’s teams have won nine Marmonte League Championships and have won over twenty games per season in the last eleven out of twelve years. Coach has been selected Marmonte League Coach of the Year six times. The Lancers Coach has been honored by being selected Ventura County Coach of the Year three times and Division 2AA CIF Coach of the Year. The Lancers went to the CIF Finals three times, winning in 2009.
At coach’s side is his lovely wife Michele of 36 years and two wonderful children: his daughter Brittany, a graduate of CSUN and son Eric who has earned his Master’s degree in Architecture and is married to his wife Zasha with seven year old granddaughter Sofia and five year old Emely
Varsity Assistant Coach
Coach Ornelaz graduated from TOHS in 1977 and set the bar high in the Lancer program, as he broke 10 individual varsity records his senior year. His scoring average of 24.7 points per game ranks #2 in TO history & his rebounding records that he set 40 years ago still remain today! He was the first Lancer to earn Marmonte League Player Of The Year, Ventura County Player Of The Year and All CIF in the same season. He went on to excel at both Moorpark College and West Texas State University. Upon completing his college career, he competed at the professional level for several years in Mexico. Coach Ornelaz has also been inducted into 2 Halls Of Fame: in 2006 for his professional playing days in Mexico and in the Ventura County Sports Hall Of Fame, Class Of 2017.
Today, he trains and works with the young and upcoming basketball talent in Ventura County. Many of them are current and future Lancers! He assists them in developing their athletic talent, helping them to take their game to a higher level.
Varsity Assistant Coach
Coach Francis is in his sixth year with the Lancers. He was born and raised in New Jersey, where he played basketball for Atlantic County Community College for 2 years. He moved to Thousand Oaks in 1987. He was on the staff at Westlake High School from 1995 until 2002 where he served as the Soph-Frosh coach for 2 years and then became an assistant coach to the varsity for the remaining years.
He has been active for over 25 years in baseball and basketball in the Conejo Valley. He has two sons Derrick and Dylan.
Varsity Assistant Coach
This is Logan's third year coaching at Thousand Oaks High School. He played basketball at Hillcrest Christian School ('09-'12). He was a team captain for 3 seasons and was an All-League Selection 3 times. As a junior he was named MVP after leading the league in assists and rebounds, and finishing second in the league in scoring. He was unable to play as a senior due to injuries but he stayed involved with the program as a varsity and middle school assistant coach. Logan went on to continue his playing career at multiple junior colleges for 2 years.
Coach Logan Baltau's began his coaching career as the Varsity and Middle school assistant coach at Hillcrest Christian. After one season he transitioned into coaching AAU basketball for Conejo Valley Basketball Club. Coach Baltau is currently the Program Director and Operations Manager for Conejo Valley Basketball Club, the largest club program in the Ventura County area. The has also served as Don MacLean's lead assistant with CAA NBA Pre-Draft process the past five years, in which he has worked with over twenty active NBA Players.
Junior Varsity Head Coach
Coach Mazzeo begins his first year at Thousand Oaks High School. Most recently, he served as the assistant coach for Newbury Park High School. Prior to Newbury Park, he spent several years coaching Freshman, Frosh-Soph, and assisting with the Varsity teams at Westlake High School his alma mater. Coach Mazzeo also has experience coaching for various travel teams in the area coaching a variety of age levels. On top of coaching, he trains players to help them achieve whatever their specific goals are. Coach Mazzeo truly enjoys teaching the game of basketball and mentoring our youth to be the best version of themselves.
Coach Mazzeo attended California Lutheran University and received his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science with an emphasis in Education. In his last year at CLU, he was able to take an assistant role on their developmental team and got to experience coaching at the college level. Coach Mazzeo is currently in Cal Lutheran’s Teacher Credential Program with his focus being on Physical Education.
Sophomore/Freshman Head Coach
Sam Donohue is a Thousand Oaks High School Alum who played from 2006-2010. He was on the CIF Championship Team in 2009. He got his coaching start at TOHS coaching the freshman team from 2014-2016. He is a brokerage associate and wealth manager for Wells Fargo and is very excited to be coaching basketball again at TOHS.
